It’s the most watched annual sporting series in the world, with more than 525 million people watching over the course of a season; it employs some 50,000 people in over 30 countries; and represents the cutting edge of technology in the global automotive industry.
Success in Formula 1 is all about efficiency and the ability to gain competitive advantage from a fixed set of resources. R&D and a seamless manufacturing process within the high tech factory environment are critical to the on-going performance of all the teams. For this reason teams can’t afford any lengthy spell of factory downtime and take all necessary precautions to alleviate known risks.
That’s why various F1 teams turned to Nobel to assess the fire risks in their individual factories and provide tailor made solutions for rapid and effective fire suppression. The majority of risks feature a high level of combustible loading, some utilising individual workstations while others are highly automated.
Nobel’s contribution to fire risk evaluation and fire suppression systems in F1 factories is a natural expansion of the company’s involvement with the general automotive manufacturing industry where the company provides ongoing design, installation, servicing and maintenance of fire suppression systems for global brands such as Rolls Royce and Jaguar Land Rover in the UK.
Nobel’s Ireland Distributor Paul Fahy Utilities Director at Hanley Controls Clonmel commented, “Nobel have great experience in the provision of fire suppression solutions for the high tech engineering industries such as manufacturing ,data halls and medical device to name a few . We at Hanley Controls Clonmel have built on Nobel’s 30+ years of totally reliable proven technology to offer Nobel's current range of fire suppression technologies throughout Ireland , all of which are specifically aimed at these types of special risk environments”.
